Man Up: Now More Than Ever!
Wednesday Night Zoom for those "Man Enough" to Save Democracy

God knows, after these past weeks, we need more volunteers working hard to elect Democrats in November! And – with great timing! – the Grassroots Collaboration Project has launched an appeal to men to join the ranks of current volunteers, who are mostly women. (Check out Man Up, a practical guide to election activities and how men can connect with them.)
In a move I didn’t know I had in me, I’ve invited 125 of my pro-democracy male friends to a Man Up “Open Mic” zoom on Wednesday, July 10th, 7-8 pm ET. (Sign-up here: https://bit.ly/ManUp24) The purpose of the discussion is to open the path to volunteering, getting more men to help elect Democrats in November. During the “Open Mic,” both the Man Up website materials and a few men already volunteering will give newbies the knowledge and confidence to connect with targeted election activities.
Why am I hosting this? Because the dollars I’ve donated to Democrats are simply not enough. Because I owe some skin in the game to all my lady friends who have been busting their butts for eight years with too few men as fellow volunteers. But even more, because there are two questions my grandchildren are going to ask me about 2024:
— Did you see the Taylor Swift tour?
— What, besides writing checks, did you do to fight for freedom and democracy??
Soooo…. pull up your own contacts and get busy alerting whole lists of men that you or your partner knows who want Democrats to win in November. (Do not ignore anyone who has not been interested before! There is a new urgency and everyone feels it!) Then either copy-and-paste my email to my 125 friends or write your own appeal. And get those emails out in time for Wednesday evening, July 10th, 7-8 p.m!
