Is anyone coming up with a clear statement of what Democrats stand for -- something that is repeated over and over? If not, something is wrong.
In the spirit of workshopping this, I offer the following, which is based on the principle that one must always condense things into no more than five points. I also think that perhaps everything falls into one of these five points. For example, climate change is a big problem that needs creativity and diverse voices to address. Mass incarceration is also such a problem.
I also see this as a LONG TERM VISION of what we Democrats are building FROM THE GROUND UP. Would love to hear other ideas.

· Everyone who works hard is able to afford a home, health care, child care, and an education.
· Everyone is secure and safe in their daily lives.
· Jobs are available for anyone who wants a job.
· People in need are cared for by the community.
· Our response to a problem is to bring creativity and diverse voices to solving the problem.
I would NEVER pay to listen to the Head of the DNC!!! I will never again send them a dime!!! I will support candidates who speak to the grassroots directly!! Should I stop calling myself a Democrat.....I think maybe yes.
