The media needs a focal point that can voice rational, historical and constitutional views on issues. A shadow cabinet is well established tradition in many democracies.

This is an opportunity that we cannot pass up.

This is a great set of ideas! Building credibility andknowledgable points of contact to rebut and refute insane, servile, or plain seditious activities and claims by the current administration, all the while setting the stage for a stronger, more sane set of leaders is what We, the People, need!

I like this. Can we have a planning meeting?

Trying to follow up on this idea of a planning meeting--I can see your outline, but don't have access to join the discussion. I tried to message you on blue sky. Your name and face show up, but I get the message that you aren't message-able. I'd like to put you and others who have commented on an email to see about setting up a planning meeting as Hope in Hard Times suggests. We'll see if we can get 10 or get Indivisible to make it a topic on a weekly meeting or something ...

I'm so grateful for this clear explanation of a concept I was afraid had been lost in the chaos. This strategy is powerful. In a time when Dems appear limp and ineffective, a Shadow Cabinet (The People's Cabinet) could breathe life into this organization we need so badly. Thank you!

Can we maybe have a planning meeting? Dems host a newshow 3 days a week called the WTF Show covering the First 100 Days of Trump’s 2nd term. I'd love for us to talk about how we can elevate existing voices and convince others to have a platform.

Yep, Schumer keeps dropping the ball! Sometimes I wonder if these corporate Democrats are working for the common person, or against! What's their motivation? Don't trust that. Trust Bernie, who's been saying the same thing for over 60 years!! But, they cut him out of the Democratic Party purse strings in 2016!

Why?

An opposition only has depth when, alongside all that it stands against, it presents people with a vision of a better future, the one that they are missing out on because of the leaders now in power.—Pete Buttigeig

Present an opposition Shadow Cabinet of articulate voices and it. Will present the opposition in ways that cannot be misunderstood.

I'm all in favor of the Shadow Cabinet idea and have been since I read Prof. Snyder's piece but I don't think either of my MAGA Senators would be interested although they might be better than the current Senate Minority "Leader". It doesn't appear that Ken Martin and the DNC are going to be much help either as they are focused on sending out emails and texts begging for money. To be clear, except for Susan Crawford in WI and my local Democratic organization, NO Democrat is getting money from me until I see some concrete action opposing the Musk/Trump administration, replacing Schumer, and setting up a Shadow Cabinet. I don't have enough to buy any legislators, but what I have I'm going to use to the best advantage I can and, right now, it's not the Democratic party infrastructure.

Thank you for trying to get the word out.
