I was driving down the street a couple of days ago with my nieces and one of them suddenly said "What's project 2025?" As I'm sure you can imagine, I gave them an earful. But first I said "Why do you ask?" and she said, "I just saw a lawn sign that said 'Stop Project 2025'" For years I have been preaching the gospel that lawn signs provoke word of mouth conversation. It was pretty awesome to see that actually happen!
Hi Antonia, This message makes my day. I have often seen artifacts in the environment provoke conversation. "What's that [buoy, trap, colorful contraption]?" is the jumping off point for a wide-ranging conversation about science, methods, questions researchers want to answer, ethics, you name it. I hadn't thought about how yard signs can have the same effect.
There is a reason that there are DIY signs for Harris/Walz. The campaign will not give local committees any signs. We HAVE to make our own! AND all 50 signs in our township were stolen! So we ordered even more and will put those out!
