I spoke to a young man this week. He was driving home from his summer job and he decided to listen to Kamala’s Wisconsin speech in full on the ride. He told me he cried when he heard her list her policy priorities. He told me this is what he has been waiting to hear. Specifically, he quoted her words about how everyone should have the right to join a union. And he began to cry again. He said he had been aware of politics since he was five years old - when he went with his parents to vote in the primary in 2008. But he has always felt there was something cynical about it. Always. Until he heard Kamala’s speech from Wisconsin.

Listening to him, I started to cry too - the young guy is my son.

I had spent a fair amount of time on Twitter that day - watching Tik Tok posts that some younger political Twitter people had posted there for us old people to see. The enthusiasm among young people sure seemed authentic - but hearing it first hand from my own kid was exquisite.

Hope! Enthusiasm! Relief! Yes, all three. I live in the UK and work with Democrats around the world to get out the overseas vote. Visits to votefromabroad.org, where you can register and request an overseas ballot, have rocketed up. Many have signed up to become members of Democrats Abroad. Volunteers are coming forward to find out how they can help. It's great.

Thanks for the global perspective, Laura. Rocketed is just what I want to hear!

Enthusiasm, hope, determination, and WINNING (from Megan Rapinoe on a Zoom call/YouTube live event last night with over 100,000 white women for Harris who donated over 2 million dollars)! So amazing to be part of something like this in my 70s.

Can't wait for Megan Rapinoe to run for something.

My millennial kids are overjoyed and relieved. They were very angry at us boomers for not stepping aside and putting their futures and their kids (my grandkids) lives in danger. My contemporary boomer friends were reacting to my staunch “don’t speak ill of Biden, we need him to win!” with I wouldn’t get in a car with him if he were driving. Everyone one is enthusiastic and very excited about Kamala.

We wore our “DEMS MAKE LIFE BETTER” T-shirts on our plane from Chicago to Seattle before Biden made his announcement and got some positive feedback. On our flight from Seattle to LA after Biden’s Oval Office speech, the same shirt started more conversations and positive thumbs up. It was loads of fun. Get yourselves t-shirts at “demsmakelifebetter.org”. It is really worth it.

I love this tshirt and have it on today. I’m going to film a short video in front of our county elections office (in my shirt) about why I am a poll worker and why I’ll be voting for Kamala Harris! So exciting to participate in making history.
