We should add a 50 state solution, with a plan to engage rural voters. Any DNC chair candidate without a 50 state solution is not a serious contender.

Shouldn't be anyway but probably will be if they can get the financial support. Jason's comments on working with grassroots organizations are spot on, and the work that Blue Missouri and the associated Every State Blue groups is a great example of what can be accomplished is we work together. That they've done this without much notice or any support from the DNC is more indicative of the problem we face than anything else.

The Democrats must also stop abandoning districts they deem unwinnable. Sure, if you don't even bother to put up a candidate or support a candidate who is willing to run, how are you going to win? The States Project and other similar groups could teach the Dems a lot, if they would only listen.

From Ballotpedia: "Throughout 2024, Ballotpedia covered 76,902 elections in 50 states, the District of Columbia, and five territories. Of that total, 53,485 (70%) were uncontested and 23,417 (30%) were contested." And, "On average, between 2018 and 2023, 58% of elections covered by Ballotpedia have been uncontested." It's my understanding that the majority of uncontested elections had no Democrat candidate. That's unacceptable.

The Grassroots Connector provides an important service by letting us see for ourselves whether this DNC chair candidate offers substantive, practical solutions vs. lip service. Clicking through both layers of Jason Paul's links, you can find thoughtful responses to each issue he raises, many worthy of adoption regardless of who is elected chair. Do we have such detail from any other candidates?

Ben Wikler all but abandoned my rural WI county and all our down ballot candidates. Again. It was appalling.

Love these ideas. We need experimentation, connection, and opportunities for people of all kinds to participate. The broken fundraising texts and ActBlue spam do nothing but alienate potential supporters. 88% of Americans have less than $2k in savings… and folks think asking them for money is the way to win? I’m sick of fundraising and door knocking machines that are so hell-bent on efficiency they extinguish any genuine interest in party participation.
