I'm an admin of a group called Silver Resistance. This newsletter was so welcome and timely -- I posted it to the whole group. Hope it gets you lots of new subscribers!

Thanks Nan, please let me know if your group is interested in participating in the “senior council“. Also, if you and members of your group would like to join our zoom calls on Wednesdays, let me know and I’ll make sure you get our weekly newsletter.

Readers can check out Third Act: https://thirdact.org/

"We're a community of Americans over sixty determined to change the world for the better. Third Act harnesses an unparalleled generational power to safeguard our climate and democracy."

I ran into members of a local Third Act chapter at a Tesla Takedown.

I featured this in the DemLabs blog today along with Third Act and Silver Resistance. There's also a map of the number of people who depend on Social Security by county.

I am so glad to see any and all resistance and especially among those of us who have lived through the history that younger people and younger political candidates are now citing as anecdotes. “Have you no sense of decency, sir, at long last?”—Army Counsel Joseph Welch, June 9, 1954.

This even more important quote from the Congressional Record AFTER the election on November 16, 1954.

"Senator Ervin: Do we have the manhood in the Senate to stand up to a challenge of that kind?

Senator Arthur V. Watkins: I think we do. I may be a coward, but I will not compromise with that kind of attack. . . . I will not compromise on matters of principle."

In May of 2025, we can't risk a wait until Senate elections in 2026. Are there enough Representatives and ?Senators right now that have the guts, the fortitude, to vote to impeach and convict this Trumpian farce of a President

Not so far, but one has to think that if they're cowards enough to be afraid of Trump who has nothing to offer but the absence of attack, they should buckle under pressure from people who can both support opponents in either primaries or general elections and vote against them at every opportunity. I call both of my MAGA Senators at least 5 times/week and, if we all did that regularly, with focus on a few topics like no cuts to Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, etc., opposition to such ludicrous nominations as Mike Waltz to the UN, Ed Martin as D.C. Attorney, and Frank Bisignano at the Social Security Administration we can overcome Trump's flood of BS with a tsunami of truth.
