A thought-provoking analysis and a sound strategy. It's critical that we build our media infrastructure now, especially online. We need a stronger presence in the spaces where voters--and non-voters--get their information and form their views if we want to. win elections in 2026.

What makes anyone think there will be an election ever again?

One important reason is that the federal elections are run by the states. That makes it much more difficult for MAGA to just stop the elections. That would be a bridge too far for even many people in the MAGA movement. Authoritarians like to have the trappings of democracy without the reality. E.g. Putin still holds elections in Russia, and Orban in Hungary. Winning the House back in 2024 is our best chance of regaining some power in 2026, and if we could take the Senate, or at least reduce the Republican majority, that would be very helpful. There is no organizing strategy likely to succeed than organizing and investing in purple Congressional Districts and Senate races where we have a reasonable chance to flip a seat in our direction.
